Policy and Procedure Manual Guidance
HEAG can help you document policies and procedures that are required by federal regulations as they pertain to the administration of the Title IV Student Assistance Programs. It is the school’s responsibility to ensure that all Title IV requirements outlined in the Law and regulations are met.
Federal regulations require schools to have written policies and procedures; however a manual is not required.
However, experience shows that having a manual will assist the school in:
- Implementing and adhering to established procedures.
- Reviewing and updating policies and procedures as needed.
- Assist and streamline audit and program review experiences; key sections are typically requested prior to a program review.
- Effective tool in being good stewards of Title IV programs.
- Useful to staff as a training and reference tool.
